There are a number of ways to get help at the
Millikin Writing Center.
You can make an appointment with a tutor. Call 424-6353, or email us at wcenter@millikin.edu
and request that an appointment be set up for
you with one of our writing specialists or
peer tutors. Write down the time and date of
the appointment. Show up a few minutes early
(especially as a first-timer; there's some
paperwork to fill out) and don't forget to
bring the professor's assignment, any course
materials that might help, and your draft if
you have one. You can bring a printed draft, check out a library laptop and access your document on it,
or an electronic one on a disk, or we can access
your student computer account from the Writing
Center, too.
If you need to see a tutor, say, like
yesterday, you can always try for a rare "walk-in" appointment
in Library 203. Just stroll on over and see
if one of our tutors is available to see
you. This is risky, however, due to our own
tight schedules and our limited staff.
If
you are
a do-it-yourselfer
or you discover that you have questions while working on your paper at 3 a.m., the Online
Writing Center pages
can help.
There find
pages and
pages of
information on
how to
improve your
writing, and
on
grammar, usage,
spelling, and
other fun
stuff. Here's
a link

Process.
