Sandra Howard's article, "Guiding Collaborative Teamwork in the Classroom," provides a detailed framework for methods of best guiding the process of team collaboration.   She focuses on:
  • promoting student insight into the importance of teamwork
  • forming the teams
  • helping teams maintain focus through written aids
  • distributing responsibilities wisely
  • promoting accountability and responsibility
  • promoting improved/enhanced writings skills
  • providing initial guidance and feedback
  • using record-keeping forms for organizing and planning
  • ongoing instructor feedback
