Personal Knowledge Management:  Presenting Information

The key aspect of presenting information is the centrality of audience.  Presenting information whether through PowerPoint presentation, web site, or text builds on principles of chunking and arranging information (both textual and visual) to enable audiences to understand, remember, and absorb information within a certain context for a specific purpose.  Web styles and monographs on designing web site usability provide concrete content for this PKM skill.

Considerations:
Publication conventions for academic pieces
Arranging information for an audience or multiple audiences
Strategies of design and layout
Readability and legibility
Public performance
Multiple media
Integration of graphics in text
Color, and visual text elements
Hypertextual strategies and design
Analyzing, expanding and targeting your audience
Creating charts and graphs for display
Preparations for electronic presentations
Plan-B: when things go wrong have a backup ready
