Chemistry

Welcome to the Chemistry Department at Millikin University.

Chemistry at Millikin University offers over 100 years of success for its graduates. Chemistry prepares students for diverse fields, including medicine, biotechnology, the food industry, chemical engineering, research, education, business and more.

Chemistry students receive many opportunities for learning in and out of the classroom. Every chemistry student uses state-of-the-art equipment from the first course on. Each of our majors completes at least one semester of research in collaboration with a faculty member. Most of our majors complete industrial internships before they graduate, and many work as assistants in our lab courses. Chemistry students are active members of our award-winning ACS student chapter. Our majors also get exposure to interdisciplinary fields, such as green chemistry and nanoscience.

We encourage incoming freshman and transfer students to review the information about the chemistry degree and explore our website for details about student life and our department.
