The Millikin BSN program combines a carefully structured sequence of nursing courses with a strong liberal arts foundation centered around the Millikin Program of Student Learning (MPSL). Within this structure, students are encouraged to more consciously develop their academic career. The Plan of Study is meant to foster professional development.

BSN Program - Traditional Track

Millikin offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree in a traditional college setting. The BSN program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

BSN Program - Accelerated Track (PACE)

Practicing registered nurses may obtain the BSN through Millikin University School of Nursing. By collaborating with the University's Professional Adult Comprehensive Education division, the PACE RN-BSN Program provides education in an accelerated format, one course at a time, allowing for optimal learning and application of skills.

The weekly evening classes allow working RNs with an accredited associate degree or diploma in nursing to earn their Bachelor of Science Degree while continuing to work. Graduates with a PACE BSN degree from Millikin University are desirable candidates for career opportunities in healthcare organizations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to apply to the School of Nursing once I've been admitted to Millikin?
No. Our Nursing program is a "DIRECT ADMIT".  You do not need to apply to Millikin University and then apply your sophomore year to the School of Nursing.

What ACT score do I need to be considered for the program?
You must have an ACT score  of 22 or higher to be admitted into the Nursing programs. Students with lower scores will be at the discretion of the Admission Office.

Can you play a sport while being enrolled as anursing student? 
Absolutely, yes! Millikin has 21 men's and women's NCAA Div. 3 sports that you can join.

What does "Pre-Nursing" mean?
A Pre-Nursing student is someone with less than a 22 ACT but is still able to be enrolled as a nursing major. There is absolutely no difference in the student's status, as long as a student obtains a C- in all courses that are required in the Nursing major.

What are the GPA requirements for remaining in the program?
You must maintain a Millikin University cumulative GPA of 2.5 and a School of Nursing GPA of 2.0.
