Scovill Hall to be reopened as Business & Technology Center.
Constructed in 1955, Scovill Hall is currently closed for renovations. The building will open in August 2005 as the ADM/Scovill Business & Technology Center. It will house the Tabor School of Business, SCORE Entrepreneurship Center, and computer labs. Making Millikin Beautiful: A Day of Service
On Sunday, April 24, ARAMARK's Facility Services provided support for the student-initiated program "Making Millikin Beautiful." In the project's second year, activities and projects included painting curbs and doors, replacing signs, cleaning windows, installing new picnic tables, gardening and landscaping near the New Halls, replacing ash trays outside buildings and planting flowers.
Al Dillow, our Grounds Keeping Manager, volunteered his expertise for the project, giving the students tips on the types of flowers they needed for the project. For more on this event, follow this link:
Men of newly renovated Mills Hall give good reviews
The end of the Spring semester marks the first year Mills has been occupatied since its recent renovation. New residents have enjoyed the increased comfort provided by this Facility Services project. Around $300,000 was spend in restorations made to the hall last summer, which included new carpet in all the rooms, new ceiling lights, new base boarding, blinds to replace the old curtains, and newly remodeled wardrobes.
