The Planning & Construction department is perhaps our most perceptible contribution to Millikin’s campus. It is through this department that ARAMARK coordinates campus growth and improvement through the construction and renovation of University facilities. At its most basic level, the Planning & Construction department acts as a support for Operations & Maintenance. When general repairs are no longer adequate to fulfill a building’s needs, Planning & Construction resolves the issue through renovation. After all, keeping Millikin’s facilities up to current building codes is a constant concern and priority. At times, however, even restoration is not enough to satisfy the University’s requirements. When this is the case, the Planning & Construction department designs and constructs a new facility that suits University needs and interests while working with city and government officials to create a structure that meets zoning and access codes. It is through the Planning & Construction department that Millikin University is assured the physical ability to facilitate the students of the 21st Century.
