The Long-Vanderburg (LV) program recognizes high scholastic achievement among those students who have a demonstrated commitment to diversity, leadership, and community service. Please click here to see the current Long-Vanderburg scholars.

The LV program honors the first two African-American graduates of Millikin University, Fred Long and Marian Vanderburg. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years so long as the student maintains a 3.0/4.0 cumulative GPA and actively participates in the program

LV Scholars Program Benefits
$2,000 annual scholarship totaling $8,000 over four years
Leadership opportunities in local community service initiatives
Service in the LV Living-Learning Community

Qualify for the LV Scholars Program
Display exemplary academic achievement that includes: minimum composite ACT score of at least 23 or SAT score of 1070 (combined math/verbal) and cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale)
Evidence of leadership, commitment to diversity, and community service participation in high school and/or local community organizations
Membership in any historically underrepresented group or demonstrated commitment to the advancement of these groups
