The ceramics lab contains four electric wheels, seven kick-wheels, four electric kilns, one standard high-fire kiln, a salt-kiln, a raku kiln, and an experimental kiln. There are lockers, two clay mixers, areas and chemicals for making glazes, and senior studio spaces.
One room accommodates development of black and white negatives. The darkroom in Kirkland's basement is used for printing black and white images. There are six enlargers, and one enlarger for 4x5 inch negatives. There is equipment for 4x5 shooting, development, and processing. The Imaging Studio contains multiple light, prop, and backdrop setups to accomodate indoor portrait or still life photoshoots. Various archival processes are also available.
The Design Room
Includes work tables, lockers for storage, resources for beginning design students. This space is a multi-purpose work room allowing for creativity and freedom of expression.
The studio includes two slide projectors, two large drawing tables, a stock selection of slides, various props and cloth for still lifes, sitting and standing drawing horses, senior studio space, and cabinets and lockers for student supplies. There are also various tools for community use.
Media Arts Center (M.A.C.)
The lab is equipped with Macintosh computers, scanners and printers. The lab is configured with Adobe Professional Suite of applications including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
Each student is given an easel, pallet, and a table in a work space. There are lockers for student supplies and a big cabinet for paintings and supplies. Advanced students receive a larger studio space.
This studio includes two large platten presses and a variety of printmaking tools and material. The emphasis in printmaking is on monotype, collagraph, drypoint, relief, and etching as well as exploration of other printmaking and drawing techniques.
Students have the opportunity to use the various welding equipment: acetylene gas and arc welders, along with grinders, drill press, and cutting torch. For woodworking and other sculpture needs a drill press, table saw, chop saw, radial-arm saw, band saw, stomp shear, and various hand tools are available.
