Fabricio Seraphin's credits include crapshooter/dancer in Guys and Dolls, George Murchison in A Raisin in the Sun, and dancer in Mary Zimmerman's Metamorphoses (Dreyfoos School of the Arts). Fabricio also attended the Boston Conservatory summer Musical Theatre and Dance Intensive.

Sara Hook  -  Blue Beams

Professor, MFA Program Director
University of Illinois

Sara Hook (Professor) is a performer, choreographer and educator who actively promotes a synergy between the professional and academic arenas of Dance.  A former soloist with Nikolais Dance Theater, Hook has also performed with Murray Louis, Pearl Lang, Jean Erdman, and Stephan Koplowitz among many others. She is a guest artist/collaborator with David Parker and The Bang Group with whom her work has been produced internationally in venues throughout North America and Europe. Sara Hook Dances has appeared at numerous New York City venues including Dance Theater Workshop (Fresh Tracks, Split Stream, and Family Matters Series), Dancenow/NYC’s DanceMopoliton Series at Joe's Pub at the Public Theater, The Sampler Series at Symphony Space, and the West End Theater.  Recent Regional venues include The Modern Dance Festival at the Modern Art Museum in Ft. Worth, Texas and The Harvard Dance Center in Cambridge, MA and recent international venues include Frente de Danza Independiente in Quito, Ecuador. Hook has toured widely as a guest artist/teacher and has set works at over a dozen universities nationally. She has also served as an adjudicator for two regional American College Dance Festivals.  Hook holds an MFA from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and a BFA from the North Carolina School of the Arts. She is also a Certified Movement Analyst from the Laban Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies. Previous faculty appointments include Princeton University and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, both held from 1994-2000, and she was a guest faculty of the Paul Taylor Summer Intensives in NYC from 2000-2003. In 2010 Hook received the UIUC College of Fine and Applied Arts Excellence in Teaching Award and was promoted to Full Professor. Hook is also proud to have been a founding member of The Pink Ribbons Project--Dancers in Motion Against Breast Cancer.

Andrea recently trained with Kari Margolis at the Margolis Training Center Summer Session in Barryville, NY. She also directed Black Comedy with Lindbergh High School. Additional credits include Little Shop of Horrors and Much Ado About Nothing with Lindbergh High School.

 

AnnaMarie Abbate  -  The Sound Within

AnnaMarie Abbate recently choreographed for Pipe Dreams Studio Theatre in their production of Evil Dead the Musical. Her other choreographic works include, Love Kills the Musical, Scrooge the Musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, and Seussical the Musical. On the Millikin Main Stage, AnnaMarie’s credits include being a part of the Dance Ensemble in, Equinox: a Concert of Dance and she was also seen in Solstice: a Concert of Dance.

Elliot Marach- Credits include Seussical the Musical (Horton), Spamalot, Music Man, A Chorus Line (Timber Lake Playhouse); and Last Days of Judas Iscariot and Equinox: A Concert of Dance (Millikin Main Stage). Elliot is a senior at Millikin University studying Musical Theatre with a dance minor.


 
ARTISTIC TEAM


  Sean T. Morrissey  -  Director/Choreographer

Interim Chair, Dept. of Theatre and Dance
Millikin University

Sean has been the Director of Dance at Millikin since 1999.  He was the recipient of the Times Newspaper’s Outstanding Choreography award for his work on the Porthouse Theatre production of Dames at Sea and the Connecticut Critics Circle Best Choreographer Award for his work on the Candlewood Playhouse production of West Side Story. As a director/choreographer, Sean’s work includes Lucky Stiff, Sweet Charity, Me and My Girl, No No Nanette, Sugar, Damn Yankees, Guys and Dolls, My Favorite Year, Kiss Me Kate, Drowsy Chaperone, The World Goes Round and Grand Hotel. Other choreography credits include Carousel, The Merry Widow, Brigadoon, Pippin, Pump Boys and Dinettes, and Cabaret. In addition to musicals, Sean has choreographed 18 concert works for the Millikin stage. As a performer, Sean appeared in the original Broadway cast of the Alan Menken and Lynn Ahrens production of A Christmas Carol featuring choreography by Tony Award winner, Susan Stroman, the European tour of 42nd Street, the Vienna company of West Side Story, the Asian tour of South Pacific, and regional productions of Cabaret, Me and My Girl, Big River, Anything Goes, Singin’ In the Rain, Oklahoma! and Gypsy. Sean is a graduate of Syracuse University and a proud member of Actors Equity Association and Screen Actors Guild.  
 

Angela Fleddermann Miller - Director/Choreographer

Instructor of Dance
Millikin University

Angela Fleddermann Miller has worked professionally with such reno­wn choreographers as David Parsons, David Dorfman, and Patrick Corbin, and has been a company member with the Amy Marshall Dance Company and Peter Pucci Plus Dancers, all in New York City.  She has also performed with Disney and at the MUNY in St. Louis.  While in graduate school, she was the recipient of the Vannie Sheiry Memorial Scholarship for outstanding performance.  Angie is regularly invited as a guest to share her creative teaching methods across the disciplines in seminars on dance pedagogy for graduate students and faculty at UIUC – her most recent seminar was entitled, The Art of Teaching Dance: Creative Approaches to Teaching Non-Majors

 

Angela’s choreography credits include Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and The Music Man at the Great Plains Theatre Festival, and L’Histoire du Soldat and A Chorus Line at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC).  Other projects include performing with David Parker and the Bang Group at Summerstages in Concord, MA; Sara Hook Dances at UIUC and Harvard Dance Center; and with her own company, Trashcake Dance-Theatre, at Cincinnati’s Aronoff Center and Chicago’s Links Hall.  In NYC, she has presented and danced in her own choreographic works and she studied on scholarship at Steps on Broadway, Joffrey Ballet, Alvin Ailey, Martha Graham, and Paul Taylor Schools.

Jana's designs for Millikin include 43 productions in costume and scenery. Selected professional credits include costume work for Universal Pictures, Kansas City Repertory Theatre, The Kansas City Ballet, The Station Theatre, and The Legacy Theatre. Jana earned her M.F.A. in Costume Design and Technology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
 

Mary M. Black  -  Lighting Design - Blue Beams, Eleanor Rigby

Assistant Professor of Theatre, Technical Director

Mary Black is Assistant Professor/Technical Director for the Department of Theatre and Dance. Recent Millikin credits include Scenic Designer for Spring Awakening, Macbeth and Sweet Smell of Success, Technical Director for Cinderella and Machinal, and Sound Designer for The Little Dog Laughed.  Previous design credits include Rent and Hamlet for the Station Theatre and several productions for the Decatur Park District Best of Summer Stock program. Previous technical credits include work for Indiana University’s Opera and Theatre programs, Iowa Summer Repertory Theatre, Brown County Playhouse, and University of Iowa’s Opera and Theatre programs. Mary earned her MFA in Technical Theatre from Indiana University.

Jenna Mondry recently worked as Stage Manager on The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and BIG; as the Projectionist for Damn Yankees; and as the Student Technical Director for Peter and the Starcatchers at Victor J.
