Emma Wright  -  Elle Woods

Sophomore BFA Musical Theatre
Wheaton, Illinois

Emma Wright most recently appeared as Mikaela in Millikin’s Children’s Production of The Plant that Ate Dirty Socks (fall, 2013) as well as performing as a dancer in Soltice: A Concert of Dance (2013). This past summer, she worked as an actor/singer/dancer at Six Flags Great America (Gurnee, IL) in the shows Gotta Kick It Up and Ignight. Emma also played the role of Tricia in Pipe Dreams Studio Theatre’s production of Dog Sees God ( fall, 2012) and appeared as Mary Jane in the revival of Last Chance Theatre's film shadowed version of Reefer Madness (spring, 2013). Additional credits include: Georgia in Curtains, Anne in The Diary of Anne Frank, Belinda in Noises Off and Rusty in Footloose (Wheaton Warrenville South High School).

(Ensemble) at Oxford Shakespeare Festival in Mississippi. He has been seen on the Millikin Main Stage in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (William Barfee), and The Sweet Smell of Success (Ensemble). Ben Locke has spent his past two summers acting and assistant directing Rise Up and A Tale of Two Families at Bethel Community Facility. At Pipe Dreams Studio Theatre he has appeared as Matt in Dog Sees God and was the director of A Queer Carol.  On the Millikin Main Stage, Ben was seen as Owl in Miss Electricity.

Lexis first appeared on the Millikin Main Stage in last year's production of Cinderella. Since then, she was the female swing in Machinal, an ensemble member in the collegiate premiere of the new musical String, and was featured in two Dance Concerts. In January of 2014, Lexis was in the ensemble of the New Musicals Workshop production of The Legend of New York. Ryan Hickey  -  Swing

Ryan debuted on the Millikin Main Stage in last year’s fall production of Macbeth as King Duncan, then as the Husband in Machinal, and was the title character in this year’s production of Tartuffe. In the New Musicals Workshop he was the villainous Old Man in The Legend of New York. Additional credits include: RED, The Lion in Winter, You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, Annie, Beauty and the Beast, and The Pirates of Penzance.

Eli Pippin Day  -  Bruiser

Eli Pippin began his acting career at the mere age of 4 months. He was “turning-around” before he was even 3 lbs! Now as a 10 month old, Eli is happy to premiere his hard work in Legally Blonde. It is rumored that he may be the sweetest 5 lb, long-haired Chihuahua north of the Mason-Dixon line. While he has missed home, Eli’s stay in actor housing has been a dream. He loves all of his new friends both human and canine (especially Rufus and Elle!). 

 
 


  Grace Miller  -  Rufus

Grace Miller is a 6 and a half year-old mixed breed.  She was the recipient of the Barbara Shay Memorial Award at the Decatur Obedience Training Center for "Most Improved."  Grace proudly won a 2nd place medal at the 2009 Fido Scurry 5K.  In her spare time, she enjoys long walks and chasing squirrels.

  Angela Fleddermann Miller  -  Director/Choreographer

Instructor of Dance
Millikin University

Angela Fleddermann Miller worked with choreographers including David Parsons, David Dorfman, and Patrick Corbin, in addition to choreographing and performing in her own work in NYC.  There, she was a member of the Amy Marshall Dance Company and Peter Pucci Plus Dancers.  She performed with Disney and the MUNY in St. Louis.  Choreography credits include Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and The Music Man at the Great Plains Theatre Festival, and L’Histoire du Soldat and A Chorus Line at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC).  Other projects include performing with David Parker and the Bang Group at Summerstages in Concord, MA; Sara Hook Dances at UIUC and Harvard Dance Center; and with her own company, Trashcake Dance-Theatre, at Cincinnati’s Aronoff Center and Chicago’s Links Hall.  In NYC, she studied on scholarship at Steps on Broadway, and the Joffrey Ballet, Alvin Ailey, Martha Graham, and Paul Taylor Schools.  She holds a BFA in Dance from Webster University and an MFA in Dance Choreography and Performance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she was the recipient of the Vannie Sheiry Memorial Scholarship for outstanding performance. Miller currently teaches an ever-evolving variety of dance forms and choreographs for the Dance Ensemble at Millikin University.  Her choreography has been seen on Millikin's mainstage season in productions of Ruthless! The Musical, Little Women, and Cinderella.  She is regularly invited as a guest to share her creative teaching methods across the disciplines in seminars on dance pedagogy for graduate students and faculty at UIUC – her most recent one entitled, The Art of Teaching Dance: Creative Approaches to Teaching Non-Majors. This year, she is Faculty Director for the Decatur Park District's Dance Program.  Her choreography was featured in DPD's productions of Fame! Jr. and Zombie Prom for the Best of Summer Stock (BOSS) program.  In collaboration with husband, Alex, her proudest creations to date are Aidan (4) and Miranda (2).  

 

Kevin Long  -  Musical Director

Artist-In-Residence
Millikin University

Kevin Long is an Artist-In-Residence with Millikin University’s School of Music and Department of Theatre and Dance. He has worked in both educational and professional theatre in multiple positions including Musical Director, Director, Conductor, Music Supervisor, Vocal Arranger and Accompanist. Kevin has worked with several other colleges including Old Dominion University, Christopher Newport University and Virginia Wesleyan. He has worked with various Regional Theatre companies including The Lost Colony (Manteo, NC), Little Theatre on the Square (Sullivan, IL), Virginia Stage Company (Norfolk, VA) and The Hangar Theatre (Ithaca, NY). During his time at Millikin he has served as Musical Director / Conductor for many shows including The Secret Garden, Sugar, Lucky Stiff, Damn Yankees, My Favorite Year, Little Women, A Chorus Line, Spitfire Grill, Urinetown and The Drowsy Chaperone.  Kevin most recently served as director for Millikin’s production of Cinderella.   

 An advocate of New Musical development, he has collaborated with the Academy of New Musicals, Theatre Building Chicago, and Millikin University’s New Musicals initiative serving as musical director and music supervisor. Golden Gate (Spring 2011) was the first fully produced original musical on the MU main stage season and Kevin is very proud to have been a part of that team.

 
 


  Mary M. Black  -  Scenic Design/Technical Direction

Assistant Professor of Theatre
Millikin University

Mary Black is Assistant Professor/Technical Director for the Department of Theatre and Dance. Recent Millikin credits include Scenic Designer for StringSpring Awakening, Macbeth and Sweet Smell of Success, Technical Director for Cinderella and Machinal, and Sound Designer for The Little Dog Laughed.  Previous design credits include Rent and Hamlet for the Station Theatre and several productions for the Decatur Park District Best of Summer Stock program.  Previous technical credits include work for Indiana University’s Opera and Theatre programs, Iowa Summer Repertory Theatre, Brown County Playhouse, and University of Iowa’s Opera and Theatre programs. Mary earned her MFA in Technical Theatre from Indiana University.
 

Jana Henry Funderburk  -  Costume Design

Associate Professor of Theatre--Costume Director 
Millikin University

Jana's designs for Millikin include 43 productions in costume and scenery. Selected professional credits include costume work for Universal Pictures, Kansas City Repertory Theatre, The Kansas City Ballet, The Station Theatre, and The Legacy Theatre. Jana earned her M.F.A. in Costume Design and Technology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.


 
 


  Matt Albrecht  -  Lighting Design

Assistant Professor of Theatre--Lighting Design 
Millikin University

Matt Albrecht is a lighting designer from Madison, WI. For the last four years, Matt served as the resident Lighting and Sound Designer/Production Manager at Lone Star College-CyFair in Houston, TX. Some of his design highlights include The Greeks (Madison Repertory Theatre), The Water Engine (University Theatre), Into the Woods (Houston's Center Stage Theatre), The Temperamentals (Celebration Theatre), and Annie (Madison Theatre Guild). Matt has also had the opportunity to work with Peninsula Players in Door County, WI as a technical intern. Matt is thrilled to join the Millikin theatre family as the newest member of the design tech faculty. Matt would like to thank the cast and crew for all their hard work.

Daniel is in his 6th year with Millikin University, serving as Scene Shop Foreman and Sound Engineer for the Theatre and Dance Department. This is Daniel’s 8th Sound Design on the Millikin University Main Stage.

On the Millikin Main Stage, Brian's credits include Ensemble (U/S Adult Man, Hanschen, Otto) in Spring Awakening, Ensemble in Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, Male Swing (Barfee, Panch) in 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and William in The Imaginators. Brian also serves as the Assistant to Millikin's New Musical Workshop.
