Before attending graduate school, Beth worked as the Costumer at Shorewood High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she taught costume classes; designed and constructed costumes for school plays; and managed the costume shop. In graduate school, she was awarded a Hixon-Lied Fellowship, a Graduate Teaching Assistantship, and taught a course in stage makeup.  Beth’s costume design for her thesis show, Paragon Springs, received the UNL Romulo Soldevilla Award for Best Costume Design, and the production was listed as one of the Top 10 "Best Local Theatre of 2012" by the Lincoln Journal Star.

Other professional experiences include costume production work at Montana Shakespeare in the Parks, Hangar Theatre, Nebraska Repertory Theatre, and PCPA Theatrefest as a design assistant and served as the costume designer for their community outreach show. She attended the USITT Costume Symposium professional workshop, Creating Creatures with Foam and Varaform, and has since constructed a variety of puppets and mascot costumes.
