Jana’s professional credits include Kansas City Repertory Theatre, Kansas City Ballet, The Lyric Opera, The Coterie Theatre, The Unicorn Theatre, Kansas City Renaissance Festival, Maples Repertory Theatre, Little Theatre on the Square and the Station Theatre.  She worked several summers producing costumes for the St. Louis MUNY and has done wig styling/dressing for Starlight Theatre in Kansas City.  She has also taught and designed for the Leysin American School in Leysin, Switzerland.  Jana has experience in hair and makeup design for television and has worked as a key costumer for a Universal Film, directed by Ang Lee. 

 

Jana’s professional development includes master classes with Joan Morris, dye artist and painter/dyer for The Lion King, the Broadway Musical; Ian McNeil, Olivier winning scenic designer of An Inspector Calls, and Gaza Bowen, Shoemaker and Conceptual Artist. Her research interests include the work of designer Madeline Vionnet and dye techniques of India and Pakistan.  Jana has also led travel immersion courses to Ireland, England, France, Switzerland and Italy.
