Opportunities for Advancement Through Science Entrepreneurship

The Institute for Science Entrepreneurship (ISE) provides students in the natural and health sciences with formal training in entrepreneurship and venture creation.

Course Offerings

  • Introduction to Science Entrepreneurship
  • Creating a Scientific Business Venture

Clinical Nuclear Science Program

In fall 2015, the ISE launched a Clinical Nuclear Science Initiative in partnership with Decatur Memorial Hospital. Students are able to take a course in clinical nuclear science and can apply for a summer fellowship.

Research Opportunities

The ISE offers oversees an Undergraduate Fellowship Program.  It provides students with a stipend to conduct applied research with science companies and Millikin faculty, and assist with ISE operations. Fellowships are available during the school year and summer.  Students have also served as teaching assistants for science entrepreneurship courses and as interns for the ISE.

Speaker Series

The Institute for Science Entrepreneurship Speaker Series offers opportunities to learn more about relationships among entrepreneurship, economic growth, and societal well-being. Students have the opportunity to meet individuals in their field and community leaders during the events.

For more information about the ISE and how to become involved, contact Dr. David Horn at 217-424-6392 or via e-mail at dhorn@millikin.edu.
