Current Programs:

The Center for Entrepreneurship at Millikin University is a dedicated resource for entrepreneurs at every level. Through a variety of programs and development opportunities, The Center serves Millikin faculty and students, youth (ranging in age from elementary to high school level), community and local businesses.

A Note from the Director:
Millikin University's Center for Entrepreneurship builds on more than a quarter century of students working with small businesses and entrepreneurs through the classroom. The Center serves as a catalyst for entrepreneurial learning and development and delivers an educational foundation for graduates' professional and personal achievements in entrepreneurship. As you can see from this web site, the Center for Entrepreneurship coordinates programs that extend the study of entrepreneurship to many campus disciplines, from business to nursing to fine arts.  We are supported in our work by many organizations, friends, partners, businesses, and individuals who see value in our work.  We are particularly indebted to The Coleman Foundation for their support of our Center.

We are a recognized Entrepreneurship Center by The Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, and their grant program along with Score Chapter #296 supports our efforts to deliver business assistance to 15 counties in Central Illinois.  We understand our pivotal economic development responsibilities in an economy that depends on innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship to advance.  We know that entrepreneurship will be a primary driver of regional revitalization and reinvention and that we must create an environment that builds capacity in people who will take the lead in building and growing enterprises.

Youth entrepreneurship is one of our initiatives as self-employment is growing five five times faster than small firms or big corporations and we have an obligation to help our high school students achieve, compete and prosper in this economy.  That is why you will see us delivering programs that are targeted to this market through our High School Invitational Art Show and CampCEO as well as our After School Program.

Entrepreneurship will continue to be a driving force in the future and we understand our obligation and are committed to helping people think, reason and act innovatively.
