David T. Whitford (Ph. D., Georgia State University) retired from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in August 2004. During his 27 years at the U of I he taught graduate and undergraduate courses in corporate finance and investments. He received the Outstanding Teaching Award in 1990 and 1994 from the Executive MBA Program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In 1995 he was awarded the Executive MBA's Keith Sawyer Service Award for outstanding contribution to the program. Since 2005, Professor Whitford has been a faculty member in the Tabor School of Business MBA program at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois.
Dr. Whitford is the author or co-author of numerous articles that have appeared in Financial Management, The Financial Analysts' Journal, The Journal of Portfolio Management, The Journal of Accounting Research, Management Science, The Journal of Financial Research, Managerial Finance, and The Financial Review. He has served as the Treasurer of the McKinley (now Champaign County) YMCA in Champaign-Urbana and Treasurer of the McKinley YMCA Charitable Foundation. Professor Whitford is an Elder as well as former Chairman of Financial Trustees of the First Presbyterian Church of Champaign, Illinois.
