Finding a Job.
Staying motivated and feeling confident during a job search can be difficult at times. Work to keep your competitive edge by considering where you are in the development and implementation of the “7 Habits of Highly Successful Job Seekers” outlined in the infographic shown at that site. Other ways you can work toward job-finding success:
- Utilize Big Blue Jobs & make plans to attend the fall Career Fair.
- Visit collegecentral.com/millikin and register as an alum (or update your previous registration by changing your status from student to alum) in order to access job listings, career preparation content, upload resumes and create online portfolios for free. Jobs posted in the section titled “jobs posted to my school” are exclusive to Millikin. Additionally, the site also has job listings from various national job boards.
- Save the date for our Early Recruitment Career Fair on campus on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014. Learn more and keep checking back at our event page to stay up to date and conduct research on the employers attending.
Seeking opportunities to connect with and help cultivate talent?
Look no further than your alma mater! Attend the Early Recruitment Career Fair as an employer and help brand your organization on campus and promote your internship and job opportunities. Employer registration information can be found at our event page or contact the Career Center at 217.424.6294 for more information. Also, make sure you are registered on Big Blue Jobs as an employer so you can start posting and promoting your opportunities to the Millikin community in addition to utilizing the Millikin LinkedIn group. Learn more about registering and posting jobs as an employer here.
Big Blue Jobs also plays host to an online mentoring network. Sign up to serve as a mentor and be a resource for other alums and current students. Learn more about serving as a mentor here. You have the opportunity to help be a career catalyst for the future generations of Millikin alumni.
The mentoring network is a partnership between the Alumni and Development Office and the Career Center. We hope to see mentoring connections continue to grow and be utilized for the ongoing professional growth of the Big Blue!
