$11.5 million pledge made to Transform MU campaign.
Millikin has received a commitment of $11.5 million in support of the university's "Transform MU" capital campaign through the combined generosity of Trustee Emeritus Doug Oberhelman '75, his wife, Diane, and the Caterpillar Foundation. It is the largest pledge of support in the history of the university. More
Dr. Jeffcoat begins duties as Millikin's new president.
On April 1, Millikin welcomed Dr. Harold G. Jeffcoat as its 14th president. More
Local alumni and friends will have the opportunity to meet Dr. Jeffcoat at a May 1 reception 2-4 p.m. at the Alumni & Development Center. Hosted by the Alumni Association.
BP oil spill expert to speak on campus.
Dr. Jay E. Hakes will present the 2011 T.W. Samuels Lecture, “The World We Inherit: Why Energy Matters,” Monday, April 18, 8 p.m. in Kirkland Fine Arts Center.
An energy and policy expert, he recently served as director of policy and research for the 2010-2011 BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill Commission. The Commission’s report was described by the Washington Post as the “most comprehensive narrative of what happened … a clear, readable, insightful tale.” The lecture is free and open to the public. Junior wins Hollis Prize.
Stacey Weidner '12, a piano performance major from Harvard, Ill., was named the 2011 Hollis Prize winner at the annual competition recital held April 3. Weidner will perform a recital on Thursday, April 14 at 12:15 p.m. at Chicago’s Harold Washington Library, 400 S. State St. More

Big Blue golfers climb in DIII rankings.
The men’s golf team is ranked number 12 in the nation in NCAA Division III in the latest NCAA head-to-head standings, after finishing second at the Illinois Wesleyan invitational in early April. The tournament featured five teams ranked in the Top 25.
