The focus to create a new Exercise Science and Sport Pavilion has shifted in recent months to a new location. MU now has the opportunity to create and equip the pavilion in West Towne Square for $5.77 million – about $8 million less than the cost of building the originally planned addition to Griswold Physical Education Center. Tour the world-famous Costa del Sol in southern Spain as well as the Portuguese Riviera with alumni and friends, hosted by members of Millikin's Alumni & Development staff from Nov. 4-16, 2012.
Two chances to learn more about the trip:
- 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 2: View a live online presentation about the tour on your own computer.
- 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 15: Attend an informational meeting at the Alumni & Development Center on campus

Millikin will host its first-ever Virtual Career Fair on Feb. 21-22. The fair is in collaboration with 25 private colleges in Illinois and is open to students and alumni of these institutions. Post your resume and connect with recruiters for jobs and internships via live online chats. The Millikin University Choir will present a guest concert appearance at Carnegie Hall at 8:30 p.m., Sunday, March 25, and also join in performance with the National Festival Chorus that evening. The National Festival Chorus is composed of qualified high school singers who perform under the direction of a nationally recognized guest conductor. This year's conductor is UChoir director Dr. Brad Holmes, MU professor of music and director of choral studies. Tickets for the concert went on sale Wednesday, Jan. 25. Join "the Penguin" John Bingham `70 for his namesake race, the Penguin in the Park 5K Run/Walk in Decatur's Fairview Park on March 24. The Penguin returns for a race that embraces the penguin in all of us — a race for the speedy and for those who want to take their time and enjoy the course! A post-race party will be held in Millikin's Griswold Physical Education Center and will feature awards, warm food, and inspiration from the Penguin. Millikin alumni, faculty/staff and students receive a discount on registration, and part of the proceeds from the race benefit a Millikin scholarship in honor of the race.
