Janice L . Baker , 77, of Gladstone, IL formerly of Pleasant Plains and Auburn, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at Memorial Medical Center.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years Earl Wayne Baker of Gladstone, IL; four sons Stephen W. (wife, Cindy) Baker of Auburn, IL; Thomas W. (wife, Marcia) Baker of Pleasant Plains, IL; Douglas A. (wife, Carol) Baker of Nicholasville, KY; Mark R. (wife, Kate) Baker of Auburn, IL and one daughter Brenda Towers of Auburn, IL; 11 grandchildren; 4 great- grandchildren; her brother Frank (wife, Virginia) Burton of Lisle, IL and sister Marianna (husband, David) Sistrunk of Kosciusko, MS. She is preceded in death by her parents Reverend T.C. and Imogene Burton.
Janice was born in Duluth, MN and attended Millikin University. She worked for the American Heart Association for 35 years. Her focus in life was her family, faith and music. She put nothing ahead of Wayne and the family and even upon her illness was concerned about her family. Her faith was inherited from her Father who was a Presbyterian minister and this faith was instilled in her children. Jan loved music and was an accomplished pianist and organist. She shared these talents with her church for many years.
