Rosa Littke, of Scituate, formerly of Decatur, Ill., passed away peacefully Monday, May 5, at 7:27 p.m.

Rosa was born May 26, 1915, in Szekelyudvarhely, Hungary, the daughter of the late Ferencz and Vilma (Szakazs) Pakot. Rosa immigrated to the United States with her family in 1949 and settled in Decatur, Ill. Rosa graduated from Milliken University with a degree in teaching. She was a devoted wife and mother, an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, and a dedicated teacher in the Argenta Public School District.

Rosa had a deep appreciation of nature and spent many enjoyable hours in her garden. She loved to sew, knit and played the violin and piano. She was also an active member of the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation . She married George Littke in 1941 in Budapest, Hungary. George passed away Aug. 30, 1976. Mr. and Mrs. Littke courageously gave up everything in order to live in freedom here in America. Rosa lived life fully, addressed challenges as they came, and embraced the little and big things with joy and gratitude. All who knew her and loved her miss her sweet smile, loving presence and generous spirit.

Rosa leaves behind her two loving children, Edwin G. Littke and Marika L. Roth; grandchildren, Erich G. Roth, Jeffrey M. Roth, Christopher I. Roth, Michelle Littke, Stephen Littke; 4 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Kenneth Roth; and daughter-in-law, Jennifer Littke.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Sari and Marta.
