Ella Mary Lewis (Mrs. Charles R. Lewis), died peacefully in her home in Seattle, WA on March 10, 2014 after a long and full life.
Born in Chicago, on July 10, 1918, Ella Mary grew up in Decatur, Il. She graduated from Millikin University where she met and married her husband, Chuck, who preceded her in death after 30+ years of marriage. Ella Mary and Chuck eventually made their home in Tucson, and Ella Mary thrived in the desert sun and mountain air. She was an advid bridge player and bird watcher, active in Pi Beta Phi, PEO, and was a member of Skyline Country Club. Although she loved the desert and her many friends there, Ella Mary moved to Seattle in 2003 to be close to her daughter and family. Ella Mary was beloved by all who knew her, and admired for her adventuresome spirit, her sense of humor, her generosity and her love of life.
Ella Mary is survived by her loving family: daughter, Marianne; son-in-law, Stephen; grandson, Elliott; stepbrother, Jimmy; an extended family of adoring cousins, nieces and nephews, and her cat, Shadow.
