Richard D. Boulware, 78, of Decatur, IL., passed away at 3:25 A.M. on Sunday June 12, 2011, at St. Mary's Hospital.
Richard was born on May 10, 1933, in Decatur, IL., the son of Samuel Boulware and Lucille (Cornell) Boulware.
He married Peggy Elaine Gossett on June 1, 1959. She preceded him in death on Oct. 28, 1999.
Richard served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Korean War Veterans Group and also the Central Illinois Honor Flight, which was very special to him. He worked for over twenty years as a social worker in the Department of Public Aid.
Surviving are his children: Rick Gossett, Jerry Boulware and wife Lori of South Carolina, Timothy Boulware and wife Mary of Decatur, IL., and Brenda Burcham and husband Todd of Decatur, IL.; five grandchildren: Ashley Phillips, Cortney Boulware, Nikole Boulware, Savana Burcham, and Jacob Burcham; sister: Marie Oyler of Decatur, IL; brother: Ted Boulware of Decatur, IL; and sister: Annette Hager of Romeoville, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three sisters and one brother.
