Dr. Theodore (Doc Little) Little, 76, of Shelbyville entered into rest at 3 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011, at the Shelbyville Manor after a short hospitalization at which time a brain tumor was diagnosed.
Dr. Little was born Oct. 21, 1935, to Homer E. and Brosia (Gibson) Little in Shelby County.
He attended Stewardson-Strasburg High School graduating in 1953. He attended Eastern Illinois University and Millikin University for undergraduate studies. He then went on to the University of Illinois-Chicago to attend medical school, graduating in 1965. He then completed a one year rotating internship at Decatur Memorial Hospital. His first practice was started at St. Rose, Illinois. He subsequently moved on to practice in Highland and Litchfield before returning to Shelbyville, where he practiced to the age of 75.
Dr. Little was an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition, he was a musician, winning the 1965 Illinois State Fiddling Championship.
Survivors are his children, Dr. Tony Little (Jeni) of Ft. Smith, AR, Joseph Little of Decatur, Angie Kramer (Randy), RN of Decatur, Tim Little, RT of Louisville, KY, Ted Little (Kristin), Jr. of Highland and Tom Little of Highland. He also leaves 8 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Brosia Little.
