Daniel H. Connor, 66 of Argenta died 5:40 pm. Thursday January 3, 2013 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Daniel was born on December 12, 1946 in Decatur, the son of Hugh B. and Anna Evelyn Thompson Connor. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Millikin University in 1969. He earned an advanced Alternative Teacher’s Certificate from Eastern Illinois University in 2009. He received a CPCU Underwriter’s Certificate in the Insurance Industry.
Daniel worked in many positions paying his way through college. His professional career included working for Federal Kemper Insurance Company, Country Companies, CTX Trucking, and District 61.
Designing and building houses was a great passion of his. He was an Eagle Scout and active with the Lincoln Trails Council. Daniel volunteered for the United Way, and was a former member of Toastmasters, and Jaycees.
He served on the Argenta/Oreana School Board from 1996-2004. Daniel married Pamela S. Maynor on March 10, 1972. Together they enjoyed camping as members of The Soy City Campers Club.
Surviving are his wife; Pamela S. Connor, daughters; Holly (Chris) Hill and Kimberly (Richard) Flesch, grandsons; Brayden Hill and Logan Flesch, granddaughter; Hailey Flesch.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Daniel was a great husband, dad and grandpa and he will be deeply missed.
