Harold A. Brown, 78, of Danville, passed away at 3:25 p.m. Friday, Dec., 7, 2007, at Watseka Healthcare.
Harold was born Sept. 27, 1929, in Decatur, the son of George M. and Geraldine (Rohrabaugh) Brown. He married Rosetta Miller on June 17, 1951. She survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Gary (Darcy) Brown of Leesburg, Ga., and David (Dawn) Brown of Clearwater, Fla.; three grandsons and four granddaughters. Harold was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Tom Brown ; and one son, Robert "Bob" Brown .
Harold served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Army in which he eventually achieved the rank of corporal. After his service, he worked for Illinois Power where he stayed until his retirement after 44 years. Harold was a member of the Danville American Legion and was heavily involved in its activities, including Little League Baseball. He also spent his time helping in the Illinois Power Employee's Credit Union.
