Recruitment Options

On-Campus Interviews
On-campus interviews are a great way to reach talented applicants for full-time jobs and internships. Interviews between representatives of your organization and our students and alumni will be arranged to your specifications. Our office will publicize your visit and the position(s) for which you will be interviewing.

CCCI (College Career Consortium of Illinois - formerly ISCPA)
Millikin University’s membership in this consortium of 24 private colleges in Illinois allows us to serve you more strategically through joint interview schedules, resume referrals, vacancy listings, and career & internship fairs.

Resume Referral
We offer a resume referral service through http://www.iscpa.org

Vacancy Listing Service
We maintain an employment vacancy listing through http://www.iscpa.org. Employers may mail, e-mail, or fax their position announcements to our office to be included in this listing. Our e-mail is StudentSuccessCenter@millikin.edu and our mailing address is Millikin University, 1184 West Main, Decatur, Illinois 62522-2084.

Information Sessions
Make formal presentations to students regarding professional employment opportunities. Students benefit from the insights of a company representative and, as a recruiter, you will benefit from an informed candidate pool.

Internships
The Student Success Center serves as a central location to post and promote internship opportunities to students. Interns bring new energy and a fresh perspective to the workplace. Additionally, Millikin interns offer technical, research, communication, and problem-solving skills. Internships allow students to apply knowledge learned in the classroom, gain real world experience, develop professional contacts, and demonstrate and continue to build the career readiness competencies employers seek in new college graduates.

In most majors, student interns typically work part-time (10-15 hours per week) during the academic year and full-time in the summer months. Some earn academic credit, while others intern for the practical experience only. Internships may be paid or unpaid, although compensated internships attract more applicants.  We strongly encourage employers to follow the Department of Labor guidelines on unpaid internships.
