On Thursday evening, Alicia Pedroso, Director of the School of Music for the Universidad del Pacifico in Santiago, Chile, gave an inspirational presentation to a packed house in Pilling Chapel. Her lecture was a stimulating look into how music affects everyone at all stages throughout their lives.  The audience sang, danced, and cried tears of happiness as she took us on a tour of her melodious life. Students from all over campus were delighted to learn that their passion for music is going to help guide them the rest of their lives.  The CIE extends an enormous amount of respect and gratefulness to Alicia.  We can only hope that Alicia will make it back to Millikin so her message can inspire and reach many more ears. William H. Danforth said, “One enkindled spirit can set hundreds on fire!” We can think of no more enkindled spirit than that of Alicia.
