FROM: President Douglas E. Zemke
SUBJECT: EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH - April 2010
It is a pleasure to accept the recommendation of the Employee Recognition Committee that Nancy Hotwick be honored as Employee of the Month for February 2010.
Nancy began working at Millikin University as Secretary/Receptionist in the Alumni and Development Office effective January 2, 1997. She became Secretary to the Director of Development and the Director of Major Gifts effective September 21, 1998. On October 11, 2000, she transferred to the Registrar's Office as Clerk. Her title was switched to Secretary II effective July 1, 2001 and she currently is the Administrative Assistant I in the Registrar's Office.
The Employee Recognition Committee received very compelling support for Nancy's nomination, including the following comments:
“Nancy has a great rapport with faculty, staff, and students and enjoys her interactions with them. She is conscientious, hard-working and plays a vital role in meeting the needs of students, alumni, and Millikin employees each day. Her energy and dedication make her a valuable asset to the campus community and the Registrar's Office.”
"Since Glenda Suits retired, Nancy Hotwick has had to do the work of two people. Toni did not start in the Registrar's Office until April 26. Nancy's work ensured that students and staff were still being served by the Registrat's Office in the same efficiency as always. And she did this without complaint. She is a team player, she sees a problem and tries to correct it as quickly as possible. She deserves the Employee of the Month for April."
Congratulations, Nancy, on this well-deserved honor!
The Employee Recognition Committee also thanks this month's sponsors: Dairy Queen; Dale's Southlake Pharmacy; Firewater Cafe; Kirkland Fine Arts Center; Lock, Stock, & Barrel; Millikin-Decatur Symphony Orchestra; Millikin's Department of Theatre & Dance; Millikin Marketing Department; National Bird Feeding Society; Mrs. Fields; and Peerless Cleaners.
