SUBJECT: EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH - January 2010
It is a pleasure to accept the recommendation of the Employee Recognition Committee that Chris Myers be honored as Employee of the Month for January 2010.
Chris Myers began working at Millikin University as a Technical Support Specialist in Information Technology on July 1, 2003. As of July 1, 2005, Chris became the User Services Specialist in Information Technology.
The Employee Recognition Committee received very compelling support for Chris's nomination, including the following comments:
"Chris has been instrumental in developing the new My Millikin. Chris took the initiative to teach himself the Java programming language and seek out the best practices for developing current web applications...Chris continues to approach his job with smiles, laughter, and zeal, even when things get tough. He is a role model for others across campus in his attitude and work ethic. I can't say enough good things about Chris and his dedication to Millikin."
"Chris saved the university literally thousands of dollars in licensing of software for a university portal and single sign-on solution. Without his efforts, Millikin could never have implemented the My Millikin solution of one login and password for all your applications and information! At the same time Chris maintained the email, spam filtering, and account creation processes along with many other daily tasks. He definitely knows how multi-task!"
Congratulations, Chris, on such a well-deserved honor!
The Employee Recognition Committee members are: Co-Chairs - Debbie Campbelland B.J. Warren, Aaron Copley, DJ Cropper, Nancy Freeman, Jenell Hironimus, Cindy Landacre, Tammy Maxwell, and Paula Stickles.
The Employee Recognition Committee also thanks this month's sponsors: Campus Bookstore, Dairy Queen, Dale's Southlake Pharmacy, Department of Theatre & Dance, Java City, Firewater Cafe, Kirkland Fines Arts Center, Lock, Stock, & Barrel, Marketing, Peerless Cleaners, Pla-Mor Lanes, and Starbucks.
