SUBJECT: EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH – August 2010
It is a pleasure to accept the recommendation of the Employee Recognition Committee that Lindsay Malone be honored as Employee of the Month for August 2010.
Lindsay began working at Millikin as a Student Service Representative on March 17, 2008. The Employee Recognition Committee received very compelling support for Lindsay’s nomination, including the following comments:
“Working in the Student Service Center (SSC) is challenging especially during the beginning of semesters when walk-ins and phone traffic are high. Lindsay handles it all with an upbeat attitude.”
“Having a staff member on maternity leave and preparing for another one to end her employment after her 2nd child is born, made us realize we really need to evaluate various procedures and processes that need to have redundancy in our office, so the SSC continues to function efficiently. Lindsay has readily accepted the request to train her on these responsibilities. Her learning curve is fairly short, she asks well thought out questions and is able to perform the functions rather quickly with little supervision. This in an invaluable asset to an office and makes her a highly valued employee.”
“Lindsay is always willing to help her coworkers and other departments above and beyond what is expected of her. She tries to help her students to the best of her abilities. She has the energy and enthusiasm needed to make a difference in student's lives.”
“If there is an issue that needs to be resolved, Lindsay works through it until it is complete. When she talks with parents on the phone, she is calm, understanding and knowledgeable. The parents have commented on how much they like working with Lindsay on their son/daughter's account. She has an upbeat attitude and a reassuring voice that allows not only the parents of an incoming freshman, but also our seasoned parents a sense of ease through the account and financial aid process.”
“She has also taken on many of the former Receptionist duties, such as tracking our credit card invoices and monitoring office supplies and replenishing them when needed.”
“Lindsay always keeps a good attitude as well with staff and students, which in our department can sometimes be challenging. She handles difficult people and/or difficult situations with a caring and sympathetic attitude.”
Congratulations, Lindsay, on such a well-deserved honor!
