This course is part of the Summer Program: Urbania, Italy
Students will explore the role of entrepreneurship in rural US and Italy, specifically in downtown districts. Students will gain an understanding of the cultural, historic, and geographic implications on small business with an emphasis on risk tolerance and perception of failure. The course will also explore the role of local and state government in startup activity. Students will use on sight observation and interviews along with research from primary sources to develop opportunities to revitalize Downtown Decatur.
