Blue Connection Fine Arts Gallery, located at 117 N. Water St. in Decatur, Ill., will host "F.stop: A Gallery of Photos,"
an April After 5 Live event scheduled for Friday, April 4 from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Photographs and prints will be on display during the event as well as student-run microventures from Millikin's Center for Entrepreneurship. Complimentary refreshments will be provided; the event is free and open to the public.
The April exhibit will feature some of the best photography work from Millikin University students, faculty, and alumni.
Thomas Byler, a junior entrepreneurship major from Mt. Zion, Ill., was selected as one of the April featured artists. Known for his theatre and music portrait work, Thomas is excited for the opportunity to display his landscape photography.
"Blue Connection is helping me market more of my landscape work, and I am really excited to see my artwork side-by-side with other artists trying to sell their work as well," Byler said.
Nick Burge, a senior graphic design major also from Mt. Zion, Ill., is one of 18 students involved in the business success of Blue Connection Fine Arts Gallery this semester. Burge is excited for the 'F.Stop' event that features strictly photographers.
"We will be showcasing different kinds of prints, techniques, and a wide variety of subject matter," said Burge. "Anyone that walks through Blue Connection will be amazed by the moments the photographers were able to capture."
