Adults interested in earning a bachelor’s degree should plan to attend the Professional Adult Comprehensive Education (PACE) Open House at Millikin University on Thursday, August 20, 2009.
The Open House offers adults the opportunity to meet with advisors to learn the specifics of Millikin’s PACE program. PACE offers an accelerated class format, usually offered in the evening, which allows students to take one class at a time one evening per week for 5, 8, or 10 weeks, depending on the major.
The PACE Open House will be held in Kirkland Fine Arts Center’s Perkinson Gallery. Guests may park in the Kirkland lot directly in front of the building with an entrance off of Fairview Avenue. The Open House runs from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., allowing adults to come at a time that works best for their schedule.
In addition to PACE advisors, a financial aid representative will be available to explain the financial aid process. A representative from the Registrar’s Office also will be available to evaluate college transcripts and determine the number of credits that may be transferred into the PACE program. If a guest would like to have his/her transcripts evaluated, he/she should bring unopened official transcripts from all universities and colleges attended.
The PACE program offers five bachelor of science majors: Accounting, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Nursing RN to B.S.N., and Organizational Leadership. PACE also offers Educator Certification for Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education for adults who have already earned a bachelor’s degree but would like to become teachers. All majors offer the same quality of education and rigor of a traditional Millikin degree but are offered in a format that works well for working adults.
