Millikin University's Office of Admission website is among the most highly rated in the country, scoring in the top 100 of all sites rated, according to a recent report from the National Research Center for College & University Admissions (NRCCUA). The site was recognized in NRCCUA's 15th annual My College Options Enrollment Power Index (EPI), an analysis of admissions websites of nearly 3,000 colleges and universities.
Dr. Patrick E. White, president of Millikin University, says "This high rating from the NRCCUA recognizes Millikin University's success in communicating with today's prospective students – smart, tech savvy people of all ages who want clear information and easy access to the one-on-one personal contact that is a trademark of a Millikin education."
Millikin University's Office of Admission website received an "A" grade. Only 160 schools received such a high grade card putting Millikin University in the top 5 percent of all college websites.
MyCollegeOptions.org is the nation's largest online college planning program. Every summer, its staff of college admissions and internet experts conducts a research-based analysis that measures how well college and university websites provide information to prospective students to assist them through the application process. Of the post-secondary institutions whose sites were graded, less than 45 percent earned a score of A or B.
The study grades institutions on a 100 point scale, including functionality, design and technology components. The criteria for the study is reviewed and updated annually by internal experts as well as current high school students. Statistical tests are used to determine the specific EPI criteria to be used and their relative importance to students in college planning. This year's study examined 36 criteria in four main categories:
• Ability to Find Desired Information
• Personal Contact with Admissions Staff and Students
• Online Interactive Tools
• Website Design and Navigation
President White added, "Everyone at the University and a broad sweep of our alumni are working hard to communicate to students ready to make the most of Millikin's excellence in performance learning. We are happy to have the recognition of our strength in communicating our important message to today's students."
