Our hearts and prayers continue to go out to all those affected worldwide from the natural disasters this fall. It was the late season tornadoes on the weekend of Nov. 15-17, however, that hit closest to home for the Millikin University campus. Several of Millikin's students, their families, and friends were affected by these terrible storms.
In response to these tragedies, the Millikin Office of Student Development and the Department of Athletics organized a group of students to help with the relief efforts in both Gifford and Washington, Ill. Over 100 students assisted in the efforts.
Additionally, the Millikin Fraternity & Sorority Life community led donation drives for money, non-perishables, toiletries, and clothing. An active donation link is available to give funds to the relief efforts at www.crowdrise.com/CITornadorelief/fundraiser/BetaTKE
The Millikin campus also rallied around this cause through social networking, encouraging all to spread the word by using #MUGives.
