The Millikin School of Music offers many avenues for music enthusiasts to grow their skills and advance their career in the music industry. We offer five degree programs, one minor, and a host of instrumental and vocal bands and ensembles. Whether you're pursuing a full-time career in music or just looking to expand your skills through involvement in an ensemble, we have options that will fit your needs and interests.

School of Music Areas of Study

Commercial Music, BM

Commercial Music students progress through a project-based, entrepreneurial curriculum encompassing songwriting, arranging, performing, recording/engineering and audio production.

The Bachelor of Arts in Music produces artists, scholars and creative professionals whose transferable skills provide them expertise in a variety of careers.

 

Music Business, BA, BM, BS

The Music Business Program allows students to train as artists while also developing the business and entrepreneurial skills that will bring them success in the industry.

Music Education, BM

The Music Education, BM Program delivers a four-year comprehensive curriculum leading to K-12 teaching licensure in the state of Illinois.

Music Certificates

Music certificates are available in Music Composition, Jazz Studies, Instrumental Music and Vocal Music.
