Senior Director of Development

Dan Baker CFRE, Senior Director of Major Gifts

Dan joined the Alumni & Development Team at Millikin University as Senior Director of Major Gifts on January 1, 2020. In this position Dan will work closely with the Alumni & Development staff, alumni, and friends of Millikin to advance the philanthropic goals of the university.

Dan’s fundraising background is well rounded and diverse spanning over 20 years of experience having previously worked in the health care and human services sectors of fundraising. From 2012-2019 he was a major and planned giving officer for Presence Covenant and Carle Hospitals in Urbana, Illinois. From 1998–2012 Dan served in various professional fundraising and leadership capacities for the Boy Scouts of America in Des Moines, Iowa, Muncie, Indiana and Champaign, Illinois. 

A native of Iowa, he earned his undergraduate degree from Western Illinois in 1993. Dan is an active Rotarian and serves on the Prairielands Council Board. He enjoys attending all levels of sporting events especially professional baseball, college basketball and those his sons are competing in. He resides in Savoy, Illinois with his wife Beverley and two sons.
