    Commencement Ceremony

  • In-Person Commencement Ceremonies

    Sunday, May 19, 2024 at 10:00 am and 3:00 p.m.

    Kirkland Fine Arts Center

  • Millikin University is excited to announce that May 2024 graduates, for both the undergraduate and graduate degree programs, will be recognized through an in-person ceremony.

    Graduates in the College of Arts and Sciences and the Tabor School of Business will participate in the ceremony at 10:00 a.m.  Doors will open at 9:00 a.m.  Graduates should be at Kirkland lined up no later than 9:30 a.m.

    Graduates in the College of Fine Arts and the College of Professional Studies will participate in the ceremony at 3:00 p.m.  Doors will open at 2:00 p.m.  Graduates should be at Kirkland lined up no later than 2:30 p.m.

    Graduating students will be allowed up to six guests at the ceremony.  Millikin community members unable to attend the ceremony in-person will be able to watch the ceremony through a public live stream here on Millikin’s commencement website. 

    Millikin University has partnered with The Commencement Group to provide floral arrangements for purchase.  To further contribute to a safe and efficient environment for graduates, guests, and faculty, they strongly encourage customers to take advantage of their online pre-order service.

    Ceremony & Rehearsal

    Commencement Ceremonies

    The commencement ceremonies will be held on Sunday, May 19th, at 10:00 am and 3:00 p.m. at Kirkland Fine Arts Center. 

    • Graduates in the College of Arts and Sciences and the Tabor School of Business will participate in the ceremony at 10:00 am.
    • Doors will open at 9:00 a.m. 
    • Graduates should be at Kirkland lined up no later than 9:30 a.m.
    • Graduates in the College of Fine Arts and the College of Professional Studies will participate in the ceremony at 3:00 p.m.
    • Doors will open at 2:00 p.m. 
    • Graduates should be at Kirkland lined up no later than 2:30 p.m.
    • Each graduating student will be allowed up to six guests to attend the ceremony.  Tickets will be distributed with your cap and gown.  To make arrangements for guests that need accessible seating, please contact Lisa Hill by Monday, May 13th.  Guests in the accessible seating section may be accompanied by one other guest.  The accessible seats will replace general seating seats.
    • No balloons, noisemakers, or signs will be allowed in Kirkland for the ceremonies.

    Commencement Rehearsal

    May graduates will be required to attend commencement rehearsal on Wednesday, May 15th. 

    Graduates in the College of Arts and Sciences and the Tabor School of Business will participate in rehearsal at 5:00 p.m.  Graduates should enter through the stage door at Kirkland no later than 4:45 p.m. to check-in.

    Graduates in the College of Fine Arts and the College of Professional Studies will participate in rehearsal at 6:00 p.m.  Graduates should enter through the stage door at Kirkland no later than 5:45 p.m. to check-in.
