Dr. Jennifer Schroeder currently serves as the Interim Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. 

Dr. Jen is a Professor of Biology, with research interests spanning all areas of cancer, endocrinology, and reproductive biology. She utilizes cancer cells as model systems for testing toxicity, and is interested in the ability of pesticides to function as endocrine disruptors. 

Dr. Jen teaches introductory biology courses for non-majors and a global studies course with a focus on healthcare. Within the biology major, she teaches upper-level courses in physiology and developmental biology. She has also taught physiology and pathophysiology within the DNP in nurse anesthesia through the Millikin School of Nursing. 

Dr. Jen received a B.S. in Chemistry and a B.S. in Zoology from Eastern Illinois University, and a M.S. and Ph.D. in Molecular and Integrative Physiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Jen has been recognized internationally for promoting academic integrity, and was awarded the Teaching Excellence and Campus Leadership Award in 2015 and Teaching Excellence Award in 2018.

Beyond her role in the classroom, Dr. Jen serves as the Director of Academic Effectiveness, assisting faculty and programs campus-wide with assessment. She is also the institution's Accreditation Liaison Officer to the Higher Learning Commission, our institutional accrediting body.
