DECATUR, Ill. -- Dancing dogs, acrobatic trainers, heartwarming moments and a performing chicken take the Millikin University Kirkland Fine Arts Center stage on September 20 at 2 p.m. CDT.
Cirque du Canines is the collaboration of former Ringling touring performer, Gail Mirabella, and longtime trick dog performer, Michelle Harrell. With a shared vision of what a dog circus should look and feel like, they have combined their talents, dogs, and ideas to create an exciting performance for the stage.

“Cirque du Canines brings a fantastical journey,” says Harrell. “Dynamic routines, freestyle frisbee, high jump, dog dancing, comedy, lively music, colorful costumes, and truly something for everyone to enjoy.”
Made up of a 15-dog troop, canine-lovers can expect jaw-dropping stunts, exciting routines and heartwarming moments between these trainers and their four-legged friends. For this performance, Cirque du Canines welcomes special guest Lauren Frazier and her performing chicken to join them on stage.
“It’s not every day we get the opportunity to bring this kind of unique experience to Kirkland patrons,” commented Kirkland Fine Arts Director Bryan Diver. “If you’ve been waiting for the perfect family-friendly event, this is the one you don’t want to miss.”
Group ticket discounts, as well as discounts for seniors, children and Veterans are available by calling the Kirkland Fine Arts Center Box Office at 217-424-6318. Accommodations are also available. Tickets can be purchased online at millikin.universitytickets.com.
