DECATUR, Ill. – Millikin University will host a series of Explore Days this fall designed for high school students who want to learn more about their field of interest and the programs Millikin offers to support their educational passions.
The first of eight Explore Days begins on Monday, Sept. 29, 2025, with Future Lawyers Experience and concludes on Monday, November 1, with “Explore the Arts Day.” The events focus on a wide range of topics, including the law, performing arts, education, visual arts, nursing, STEM, business, and the arts, and take place this fall.

Future Lawyers Experience: Monday, September 29
This visit day is specifically designed for high school students interested in pursuing a career in law. During the Future Lawyers Experience, you will:
Explore our majors and programs that will prepare you for advanced legal studies
Hear from Illinois Supreme Court Justice Lisa Holder White
Meet with faculty and current students
Tour campus and see where you’ll live and learn
Backstage Blue: Friday, October 17 & Saturday, October 18
Calling all high school students who love to create and craft theatre behind the scenes. Immerse yourself in professional training opportunities in the areas of costumes, scenery, lighting, sound, props, stage management, and more. During Backstage Blue Day, you will:
Learn about Millikin’s programs from our student panel
Attend workshops by area of interest in costumes, scenery, lighting and stage management in hands-on creative sessions with faculty
Enjoy a performance of “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder”
Experience residence hall living firsthand by staying overnight with a current student
Tomorrow's Teachers Conference: Monday, October 20
At Millikin University’s Tomorrow’s Teachers Conference, you will experience a hands-on, behind-the-scenes look at what it really means to be a teacher! Meet education professionals eager to share their experiences. Get their insights on the future of education and see where your potential career path can take you. The conference will feature breakout sessions, group activities, and provide a day of hands-on, behind-the-scenes experiences for high school students interested in a career in education.
Careers in the Visual Arts Day: Monday, October 27
This day-long experience is uniquely designed for students exploring a career in the visual arts:
Hear firsthand about Millikin’s pathways to learn Art Therapy, Art Education, Design, Film and more
Get a behind-the-scenes tour of the spaces where our students and faculty create
Take hands-on workshops that give you a window into your future career
Explore Nursing Day: Monday, November 3
This experience is designed for students who are interested in a career in Nursing. During Explore Nursing Day, you will:

Explore STEM Day: Tuesday, November 4

Students will get a personalized look at everything that Millikin has to offer as we help you discover the unique Performance Learning opportunities, supportive environment, and dynamic experiences that await you.
The Campus Visit Day includes an academic fair, an admission and financial aid session, an explore a major session, and panel sessions. An optional lunch and campus tour will also be available.
