Planned Giving

Making a planned gift is a wonderful way to show your support and appreciation for Millikin University and its mission while accommodating your own personal, financial, estate-planning and philanthropic goals. With smart planning, you may actually increase the size of your estate and/or reduce the tax burden on your heirs. Just as important, you will know that you have made a meaningful contribution to Millikin.

Legacy Newsletter

Millikin University humbly recognizes the gifts that our donors have provided through their estates. We are grateful for the investments they have made in the futures of our students, campus and community, and for the legacies that they leave behind through their commitment to the University and its progress. We wish to honor their lives and memories, and express our heartfelt appreciation for their generosity.

Legacy is a Millikin University publication aimed at providing information regarding the University's planned giving programs, which provide alumni and friends with opportunities to participate in Millikin's future in a tangible way.

Wills and Revocable (Living) Trusts

A gift in your will or trust is a meaningful and easy way to support Millikin and gives you the ability to control your assets without affecting your current cashflow.  Bequests can be made unrestricted to Millikin, or directed to a college, scholarship, or other area of your choice.

To make the process simple for you, we’ve partnered with FreeWill: a free online resource that guides you through the process of making a legally valid will and legacy gift in just 20 minutes.

Investors Society

The Millikin University Investors Society was established to recognize alumni and friends who have made commitments to Millikin’s future through their wills and other planned gifts, including trusts, charitable annuities, or retirement plan designations.

These gifts have supported the construction of buildings such as ADM-Scovill Hall, created endowed scholarships to assist worthy students, and provided development opportunities for Millikin's distinguished faculty. These gifts also give donors the opportunity to support causes important to them, and can serve as a wonderful way to memorialize someone special.

Each year, members are invited to campus to enjoy a new member induction ceremony and luncheon with the University President and hear firsthand, exclusive updates on campus, and plans for Millikin's future. With your permission, Millikin will publicly recognize your generosity on campus, as well.

We at Millikin take great pride in acknowledging and recognizing our donors. If you have included Millikin in your estate plans, please let us know so that we can express our gratitude and ensure that your gift is designated according to your wishes. Please be assured that any pertinent information of this nature received from our donors is kept in the strictest confidence.
